FAQ

what services do you offer?

I provide a range of services, including private and pair dog walks, and puppy visits for enrichment and basic training. Check out the services page for more details!

how do I book a dog walking session?

First, book a free initial consultation here. From there on, we can discuss what service would work best for you and your dog and book you in for your preferred date, time, and service. You'll also be added to a WhatsApp community where you can access announcements and schedules.

what areas do you service?

I primarily service Leith and the surrounding neighbourhoods (roughly EH6/7/8). If you're unsure whether we cover your area, feel free to reach out for confirmation!

how long are the walks?

I offer walks in both 30-minute and 60-minute durations, tailored to your dog's needs and energy levels.

what happens in case of bad weather?

I monitor the weather conditions closely. Walks will continue unless there are severe weather warnings. In such cases, I will communicate with you ASAP (via our WhatsApp community) to make alternative arrangements (e.g., rescheduling, indoor enrichment, etc.).

can I meet you before booking?

Absolutely! I offer a meet-and-greet session to ensure both you and your dog feel comfortable before starting my walking service. Book your free initial consult here.

what should I provide for my dog's walk?

Please provide a collar with an ID tag and lead, any specific accessories (e.g., harness, head collar, muzzle, etc.), and instructions for your dog's behaviour, health, or any other preferences. If your dog is fussy, it would help for me to have treats they like.

what is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. For last-minute cancellations, please refer to our policy.

what are your credentials?

I have a PhD in anthrozoology (human-animal studies) from the University of Edinburgh, and am certified in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University. I keep up to date with my training so that I can provide services based on the latest research and ethical frameworks.

  • Snoopy

Snoopy has been absolutely loving his walks with Maythe. He’s a bit of a character, but she manages him with the perfect balance of care and firmness, and I can tell that he really enjoys the time he spends with her. Maythe has also helped with canine enrichment activities for when the weather is too poor for Snoopy to want to go outside, and he seems much happier for it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Maythe to anyone who is looking for a capable dog walker/carer in the Leith area, and I’m sure Snoopy would make the same recommendation (if he could speak English).
